The Technology Support Centre at HKSP enhances Hong Kong's capabilities in high-value electronic manufacturing. It provides a total one-stop service to companies engaged in integrated circuits (IC) design - one of the most important technological foundations of a high value-added electronic industry. The Centre supports Hong Kong based IC companies throughout the entire IC product development cycle from initial design to production release. The shared support services are designed to strengthen local IC companies and attract internation IC design firms to Hong Kong.

IC Design

• Cost effective and secure access to the Data Centre equipped with powerful high-end computing infrastructure and managed by an experienced and neural outsourcer to ensure IP protection

• Shared, low-cost access to the latest EDA Electronic Design Automation) tools through an EDA-on-demand system based on multiple shared user software licenses from major EDA vendors

• Use of a multi-project shuttle wafer (MPW) shuttle service that allow up to 16 different vendors to pool their designs in one mask set, thus significantly reducing wafer foundry cost

IC Development

• The right to use onsite Probe and Test Development Centre, with sophisticated test equipment, wafer probers, IC handlers and advanced RF Lab equipment, and a staff of experienced engineers

• Access to onsite Reliability and Product Analysis Lab, equipped with advanced IC life and environment test equipment to support sub-micron (up to 0.13um) IC evaluation and circuit editing

• The opportunity to collaborate with an IC Design Training Centre to develop and take advantage of training programmes to enhance IC design skills of electronic engineer
